Research and Evaluation Senior Consultant (Public Policy/Government Services)
Salary £38,000 - £45,000 (dependent upon experience)

We are Winning Moves: a Midlands based, fast-growing research and evaluation consultancy with evidence at the heart of everything we do. Governments trust our insights to inform their policy and service decisions and improvement. Through the development and implementation of robust, high-quality research and evaluation, we help our clients to tackle some of society’s toughest challenges. A method agnostic consultancy, our core domain expertise encompasses energy and the environment (including net zero), digital and innovation, and industry and enterprise. We are now keen to expand into new policy areas.
We need a talented practitioner to design, deliver and lead high quality and profitable social research and evaluation that delight our clients and deliver activities to help us achieve our growth strategies.
Some of the things we’d like you to do include:
> Direct, and lead high quality and profitable research and evaluation projects. Maintaining full intellectual engagement with projects you are leading, you will have ultimate responsibility for the quality of service, identify and manage risks (to value, quality and reputation) and ensure client needs and business needs are fully met.
> Identify, create and respond to opportunities. Spot and win opportunities for growth either through new markets, tender responses or growing the value of existing client relationships.
> Delight our clients. Using research and evaluation, including a high level of interpretation and direction, you will add value to our clients’ activities and ensure that our work meets or exceeds their expectations.
> Develop our staff of today into our stars of the future. By managing and coaching others in our team, you will help them to realise their developmental potential.
A bit about yourself: as well being able to do all the things mentioned above, you’ll be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) and will have at least five years’ experience of working in a research environment managing (or commissioning) client-facing projects. You are an accomplished researcher and evaluator with an impressive array of knowledge, skills and understanding that makes you adept at using research to assist clients to further their wider objectives. You think creatively, are analytical and have an enquiring mind which make you quick to assimilate varied and complex information, and convey this clearly to others. An uncompromising approach to quality and excellent communication skills underpins your ability to nurture and grow client relationships. You are efficient at keeping abreast of best practice and UK Government social research and evaluation practice and thrive on the opportunity to innovate and improve. Strong commercial acumen, success of writing winning tenders is a must, as is your ability to motivate and manage your team to deliver on time, in scope, to budget and to client satisfaction.
